September Newsletter 2018

Welcome back! I hope everybody has had a good summer and made the most of the good weather. This coming year will be quite a big one for Aiuchi as we mark our 25th anniversary. There will be formal anniversary ball for the adult clubs and we are looking into arranging a national training event and party for our three official juniors clubs later in the year. More details of these events will be provided when avaiable. We also have the British Championships coming up on 20 October in Telford. I will send out a seperate letter with full details and an application form soon.

Insurance

We’ve tried our hardest to keep the costs of taking part in Jiu Jitsu as low as possible, and I’m sure you’d agree that the St Athan Jitsu club is great value for money. Our parent organisation, The Aiuchi Jiu Jitsu Association has restructured the way in which it provides insurance to cover students and instructors accross the country in line with government advised best practice and to provide an increased level of cover against student to student accidental injury. This means that from now on all students will need to register with the association directly and pay an annual membership of £15 for Juniors and £25 for Seniors (18+) payable on line at www.aiuchi.co.uk

To register a Junior member the Parent or Guardian will have to register first (for free) and add the junior member to their account. Please see me for full details if you have any issues.

St Athan Park Grand Opening

On Saturday 29th September the new park in St Athan will be formally opend and a Fun Day has been organised to celebrate the event. As part of the fun day, we will be doing a 15 minute Jiu Jitsu demonstration and handing out flyers for the club. I need as many volunteers as possible to take part, so please let me know if you are interested. For those that want to take part we will have an extra training session this Sunday 23rd from 1100 to 1200 in the old school hall community centre. The extrat training is not compulsary but should be a bit of fun.

Senior Training

Our Junior Club is as strong as ever and this year we are looking to boost the numbers in our senior club. If you know anybody who is 14 and over who might be interested in giving Jiu Jitsu try then please ask them to come along on Friday nights from 7.30pm to 9.00pm.

All the best and I look forward to seeing you an the mat soon!
